How Live Design Works
You have no doubt spent time looking through numerous magazines showcasing beautiful gardens and in the process tried to image "how things could look in your own backyard". Or wondered whether it was time to update your existing garden or just that area over there which never really worked.Gardens mean different things to different people. As do the rewards from a garden, which are not always obvious to others. A freshly picked peach or a ripe tomato plucked from the vine and devoured, take alot of topping for some. Others may side towards the uncomplicated smell of a newly mown lawn or reveal in delight from an overwhelming sense of place their courtyard garden provides. To some, a place most sacred or simply an escape from the world.
What defines a garden, is in the eye of the beholder. Though what makes a garden is it's ability to 'work'. As in balanced, functional, appropriate and aesthetically pleasing. Thus, the process of landscape design.
Live Design is a process of digital photo imaging. In the initial consultation, usually an hour, digital photo's are taken of the areas you are looking to have landscaped. Then it's a matter of collecting as much information as possible from you in regard to the aspects of the site and the landscape elements you wish to see in your new garden. For a location outside of the greater Auckland area, everything can still be achieved via e-mail. With the images and your garden wish list, the design process can begin. Merging these two elements then produces a conceptual landscape design in a realistic photo image, which will leave nothing to your imagination.
With 'Live Design' many questions can be answered before your pick up a spade or call in the contractors:
- "I would like a formal garden but how will it look with this odd shape of backyard?"
- "Would a hedge look better along this boundary?"
- "We would like a swimming pool but are not sure what shape it should be."
- "I like tropical plants, would they suit the new garden?"
